Norwegian ISP won't be blocking Pirate bay

A court in Norway has ruled that although The Pirate Bay is blocked by some ISP’s in six countries already it won’t be blocked by Norwegian ISP Telenor. The entertainment industry has been trying to get Telenor to block the site since February. The court has ruled that it’s better to leave the Norwegian authorities to decide whether ISP’s have to block the site.

The authorities will have to do an evaluation on whether to shut the site down or not. This is normally done by the ISP’s but they don’t have the control. Last year the judges in Denmark were convinced to force ISP Tele 2 to block access to The Pirate Bay but they refused.

The site has been ordered to remove some of its links to material but they say they can’t do this since selling the site in 2006 to a Seychelles-based company called Reservella. So The Pirate Bay is having a hard time at the moment. What bad thing will hit them next?
